I woke up Tuesday morning to an icy world. All of the trees were covered in ice. Our sweet olive tree was laying over on the ground. It isn't broken, so I hope it will straighten up when the ice melts. The temperature stayed at 34 or 35 degrees during the day, so the roads were not icy. This morning the temperature is 25 degrees, so I imagine the roads are slick. Here are some pictures that I took yesterday afternoon.

As beautiful as the ice is, I am looking forward to sunshine and warmer temperatures.
It is beautiful in a disastrous kind of way isn't it. Hopefully this storm has moved on past us and it will warm and melt soon.
ReplyDeleteIt's as if the the world is covered in glass! WOW. I know it can be quite dangerous but yet it looks so beautiful...
ReplyDeleteOH MY! Those pictures are so pretty. I know it is dangerous to drive in, but it sure is beautiful. LOVE your pictures.
ReplyDeleteOh my! That is some amazing ice and it looks so cold. I don't blame you for hoping for some warmer days. What a winter this has been!
ReplyDeleteLots of good subjects here, but I fell for that sign - send him to North Dakota for a while...
ReplyDeletePS Thank you for the comment!
It looks so beautiful! I only saw it twice in my life: in December 2007 and in the beginning of this year.
ReplyDeleteIsn't it awful? I see you got the ice without the snow. We got ice and then a covering of snow the next night.
ReplyDeleteIt looks beautiful! But I feel also sorry for the nature around there and for the people who cannot go out of their houses.
ReplyDeleteI send you a lot of my Florida sunshine and warmth! I hope it helps soon :)

Beautiful! I know how damaging the freezing rain can be to our landscape but it is still beautiful and especially at night in the moon light.
ReplyDeleteWe got a little but nothing like that. You can see a few of my pictures I posted today. We got some snow mixed in with ours.
Stay warm and dry. Praying your olive tree stands back up when everything thaws.
We had a little bit of ice down here in Keene. I couldn't get to work this morning because of it. Fun. Anyway, stay warm Dad.
ReplyDeleteHi...I came to your blog from ABC Wednesday but got stopped on these beautiful photos. Amazing how something so treacherous can be so deceptively lovely.
ReplyDeleteIt really is beautiful! We've been enjoying iced trees over here, too.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. I miss Mena!
